What is it?

S.A.L.T. is a program designed to encourage and equip those teenagers that have surrendered their lives to the Lord.

Who is it for?

All teens who have dedicated their life to Christ and are serious about following God's will for their life.

When does it meet?

Every Sunday starting @ 5:15pm from September - May. There will be a break in the summer.
Leadership is not a position or title. It is action and example.
At Crosspointe Youth we reject the common notion that leaders in youth ministry are upperclassmen. We believe that God can use any teenager in our ministry to stand up and be a leader regardless of their age or gender. That's why we began "S.A.L.T" (Student Advanced Leadership Training). S.A.L.T. members will experience acceptance, achievement, and responsibility in developing self-efficacy, self-respect, and identity through practical and hands on leadership training.

What is Leader?

In this session first brought to our S.A.L.T. group on September 17, 2017, Pastor Caleb goes into detail on what it really means to be a leader. Take some time to listen to the audio and find out our philosophy of biblical leadership.

Does it require extra work?

S.A.L.T is not designed to be a burden, but an encouragement. In order for the student to properly develop leadership skills, this program will require Scripture memorization and spiritual growth assignments. We understand that you have school, sports, home, and work obligations so we will take your time into consideration. Expect to be stretched and challenged if you join S.A.L.T.

What do I have to do to join?

To be a member of the S.A.L.T. team you will be expected to do each of the following:
  • Consistently be in attendance at church (Sunday School and Wednesday night)
  • Come to the youth activities
  • Demonstrate a teachable spirit
  • Be willing to lead from the back and not from the front
Our desire is to have every member of our youth group involved in S.A.L.T. but we understand that not every member in youth group is walking close to God. S.A.L.T. members form the core of our youth group, therefore, only those that are truly growing in their walk with God and can demonstrate that by their fruit (Matthew 7:16) will be in S.A.L.T.
"Out of 100 men, one will read the Bible. The other 99 will read the Christian" (D.L. Moody)

2017 Fall Semester:

This semester we will be having a different book for the guys and the girls.
  • The GIRLS will be going through the book Lies Young Woman Believe by Nancy Leigh Demoss
  • The GUYS will be going through the book The Man You Could Be by Paul W. Downey
Both these books are excellent resources for teenagers and will meet them right where they are. The cost to purchase one of these books is just $8. Our official launch date for the semester will be August 27, 2017. During this time we will take some breaks to plan out and partner in other ministry venues such as our children's mini-missions conference, nursing home ministries, and other things.
